Request Access

Use Microsoft's My Access portal to request access to the ACX Lab. Most access packages are auto-approved for Microsoft FTEs.

How to Request Access

Step 1: Go to My Access

Navigate to https://myaccess.microsoft.com and sign in with your @microsoft.com account.

Step 2: Browse the ACX Lab Catalog

  1. Click Access packages in the left sidebar
  2. Search for ACX Lab in the search bar
  3. You'll see the ACX Lab catalog with available access packages

Step 3: Select Your Access Package

Choose the package that matches your needs:

ACX Lab - Basic VM Access Create and manage Azure Local VMs (D-series sizes) Auto-approved
ACX Lab - AKS Arc Dedicated namespace on a shared AKS Arc cluster Auto-approved
ACX Lab - GPU Workloads GPU-enabled VMs with NVIDIA A2 or A16 GPUs Manager approval required
ACX Lab - AVD Azure Virtual Desktop session host pool access Auto-approved
ACX Lab - Azure Migrate Azure Migrate project with assessment and migration tools Auto-approved
ACX Lab - Admin Elevated privileges for cluster-level operations Manager + lab admin approval

Step 4: Provide Justification

For packages requiring approval, provide a brief business justification:

  • What project or scenario are you testing?
  • How long do you need access?
  • Any specific resource requirements?

Step 5: Submit and Wait

  • Auto-approved packages: Access is granted within 5–15 minutes
  • Manager approval: Typically approved within 1 business day
  • Admin approval: May take up to 3 business days

You'll receive an email notification when access is granted.

Checking Your Existing Access

To see what ACX Lab access you already have:

  1. Go to https://myaccess.microsoft.com
  2. Click My access packages in the left sidebar
  3. Filter by ACX Lab

Removing Access

If you no longer need access:

  1. Go to My access packages
  2. Find the ACX Lab package
  3. Click Remove access

This deallocates any associated resources and cleans up your accounts within 24 hours.

Access Duration

All access packages have a default duration of 90 days. You can extend your access before it expires — see Extend or Modify Access.
